It works like this:
The daily study guide starts out with many guided questions, a quick summary, and an application suggestion. You are probably used to this format of studying the Bible.
Every week, you will learn a new Bible study method that builds on the previous one. I break down each step of the process and empower you to take it over. First, you’ll get a chance to ask some of the questions yourself, which will get you into the habit of making observations about what you’re reading.
Eventually, you will have a framework of questions you can take to every passage you study. You’ll know how to dig deep, draw conclusions, and figure out how each passage affects your life. But don’t worry: I always provide hints on the side to steer you in the right direction - that is, until you don’t even need those anymore either.
That’s how you’ll make your way through the Bible. You won’t read it cover to cover. Instead, I’ve picked out a number of key passages that help you see the Bible’s one story.
I’ll help you see the big picture. This is key. By the end of this study, you’ll understand any Bible passage in its context and know exactly how it fits into God’s story of redemption. Believe me, this makes a huge difference in how you interpret and apply many passages. You’ll avoid misunderstanding God or claiming promises not made for your situation. You definitely want this!!

Hi, I’m Ellen. I’m a busy lady, just like you, and need Jesus every day! Some days, it’s more natural than others to pour my heart and mind into Bible study, but knowing how to dive deep into Scripture makes it so much more worthwhile and exciting!
I learned how to study the Bible in Bible College, and I simply cannot wait to teach you everything I know. We’ll take it a step at a time because nothing deters us from our dreams like overwhelm!
You might be curious, so here it is: I have a B.A. in Communications from the Moody Bible Institute and an M.A. in Counseling Ministries from Wheaton College Graduate School. My husband and I are on staff at a non-denominational church in Florida.

Let me explain this statement and put your mind at ease.
The knowledge you gain in this study is loosely equivalent to a College-level Bible-survey class as well as a beginner-hermeneutics class (that’s a fancy word for Bible study). You will gain a thorough understanding of the Bible’s storyline as well as formal Bible study methods that pastors learned during their educational path.
Don’t worry though! There is less “homework” than a College class would require. You won’t read through the Bible cover to cover. And of course, you are not writing any papers or taking tests. More importantly, I wrote this study guide for the everyday believer and explain each step in easy-to-understand language. I developed a very specific learning process that allows you to first observe each new study method, then practice it before eventually turning it into a habit that comes naturally.

I totally get it! There are just phases in our lives when time is limited.
With 10-15 minutes a day, you’ll probably do just fine for the first few weeks. After that, you could always answer questions for as long as you have time and save the rest for the next day. This is a self-paced study guide, so the 50-week pace is just a suggestion. You can complete the workbook as quickly or slowly as you prefer.
However, great gain requires a little pain... I mean, commitment. This is not a quick devotional, and you’ll be disappointed if you expect one. Students of Scripture Confident through the Bible have expressed that the further they get into the study, the more they prefer longer Bible study sessions that allow them to really dig deep. If you really only have 10 minutes to give, you may get frustrated after a few weeks and throw in the towel.
The other question is: Do you really only have 10 minutes or can you make a little more time? If learning how to study the Bible independently and confidently is a priority goal for you, then I’m sure you can carve out an extra 10-15 minutes to reach it. You won’t regret it.
